Children immigration has become more intense after 2012. Unaccompanied children are crossing the boarders with the hope for a better life. “Nearly 63,000 children have been caught crossing the United States border alone since October — double last year’s number. President Obama has called the surge an “urgent humanitarian situation,” and lawmakers have called for hearings on the crisis” (Park, 2014).
In this unit, students will learn about Children immigration and immigration in general. Through this real problem based unit, students will have the opportunity to use higher order thinking skills and contrast their own culture with other cultures.
